Residents Approve Capital Improvement Project

On December 12, 2018 voters of the Ichabod Crane Central School District approved the District’s $27,115,200 Capital Improvement Project. Voting results were 983 yes to 931 no.

“I would like to thank everyone who came out and supported this important project,” said Superintendent of Schools Michael Vanyo. “It will directly benefit the children of our District by improving key areas of our schools and enhancing our educational programs. I’m excited to now be able to move forward with our architects in planning for the construction, which we expect to complete over the next three years.”

Bus Incident After Dismissal, No Injuries - December 6, 2018

(December 6, 2018) We want to let the community know about an incident with one of our school buses that occurred after the half-day dismissal today. The bus did not negotiate a turn correctly and slowly ended up on the soft shoulder of the road, where it then got stuck. All 21 of the K-8 students and the driver on board were not injured. Fall 2018 ICC High School Scholar Athletes

(December 3, 2018) We are very pleased to announce that eight Varsity fall ICC Riders athletic teams are recognized as NYSPHSAA Scholar-Athlete teams for the 2018 fall season. This means the GPA average for each team was 90 or higher.

Additionally, ICC High School also had 97 individual athletes recognized as Scholar Athletes for having a GPA of 90 or higher. Learn more

Gabbie Cox Signs Letter of Intent for Mercyhurst D1 Hockey

(November 29, 2018) This week, Gabbie Cox (Class of 2019) signed a National Letter of Intent to continue her education and to play Division I hockey at Mercyhurst University in Erie, Pennsylvania. Gabbie is also receiving a full athletic scholarship from Mercyhurst University. Learn more

ICC 2019 Wall of Fame - Applications Now Open

(November 26, 2018) Nominations for the Ichabod Crane 2019 Wall of Fame are now open.

The Ichabod Crane Wall of Fame recognizes the contributions of a diverse group of graduates, former employees, volunteers, and/or friends of the District. These individuals have achieved noteworthy and outstanding accomplishments in their chosen fields or in service to the District and shall serve as role models for students currently enrolled in the Ichabod Crane Central School District. (November 21, 2019) We’re pleased to announce that Michael Vecellio (11th grade, All State Mixed Choir) is representing Ichabod Crane at the NYSSMA Winter Conference All State Festival in Rochester, NY. Learn more

Primary School STEAM Projects

(November 19, 2018) You're never too young for STEAM projects and their academic benefits! Pictured here is Mrs. Bailey’s 3rd-graders doing a project in Ms. Addison's class where they designed and built ships. Afterward, they tested it out to see if they would float and added items to see which boat could carry the most cargo.

Don't forget to vote on Wednesday, December 12 for our Capital Improvement Project. A key component of the Project is an initiative to make our STEAM program even better!

New Half Day Dismissal and Brunch Times

(November 5, 2018) There are two half days coming up on Thursday, November 15 and Thursday, December 6. These half days are only for the Primary School and Middle School (grades K-8). The High School has a full day of school on both days. There are new half day dismissal and bus departure times this year due to the single bus run. Additionally, there is now brunch time scheduled for students on half days. Learn more

Students Selected for NYSSMA All State Music Fest on Nov. 16-17

(November 5, 2018) Fourteen students from the Ichabod Crane High School Music Department have been selected to attend the NYSSMA Area All State Festival November 16-17 at FDR High School in Hyde Park, N.Y. See which students were chosen here.

Boys Modified Soccer Wrap-Up Record Season

(November 5, 2018) The boys modified soccer team finished the season with a 10-0-1 record, which took them to 1st first place in the Colonial Council this year! Learn more
