Regents Chancellor Rosa Visits Ichabod Crane

(June 16, 2016) On June 16, New York State Board of Regent Chancellor Betty Rosa spent time touring the District and speaking with students, teachers and administrators about the things happening in our schools.

During her visit, Chancellor Rosa talked with some of our high school students Yulissa Gomez, Sergio Gomez Martinez, Alex Gomez and Lizeth Gomez, about their experience participating in the Puerto Rican/Hispanic Youth Leadership Institute held in Albany on March 19-21. She congratulated Sergio and Yulissa Gomez again on the scholarships they were awarded at the Institute. The students presented her with flowers and Principal Craig Shull presented her with a Riders t-shirt.

After the high school visit, Chancellor Rosa visited the Elementary/Middle School where she learned about the SmARTschools Arts Intergration initiative at Ichabod Crane PS/ES. She was then presented with a personalized image made on the 3D printer by Mr. Leader's tech students before a visit to the Primary School. At the Primary School, Chancellor Rosa visited a few classroom and spoke with students and teachers.

We thank Chancellor Rosa for taking time from her busy schedule to visit Ichabod Crane!
