Ichabod Crane Board Appoints Andrea Williams as Primary School Principal

Andrea Williams(May 3, 2017) On May 2, the Ichabod Crane Central School District Board of Education unanimously appointed Andrea Williams to the position of principal at Ichabod Crane Primary School, effective July 1, 2017. Williams will replace Suzanne Guntlow, who will transition to the position of District Principal of APPR, Curriculum and Instruction on July 1 following Melissa Murray’s retirement.

Williams is currently in her third year as principal at Tri Valley Elementary School in Grahamsville, NY. Prior to that she served as assistant principal at Poughkeepsie Middle School for two+ years. Williams was an elementary teacher for 10 years in Pine Plains and the Bronx before working in administration.

“Ms. Williams is an experienced elementary principal with the skills and leadership qualities to be a tremendous asset to our district,” Superintendent George Zini said. “I am confident that she will be a wonderful addition to the ICC family.”

Williams holds New York state permanent certification in school district administration and elementary education. She earned a master’s degree in administration and supervision from Mercy College and a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Florida Atlantic University.

Williams, her husband, Kyle, three daughters, Christina, Julia and Ryleigh, and son, Caleb, live in Germantown, New York.

“With so much excitement, I am looking forward to joining the Ichabod Crane family on July 1,” Williams said. “Ichabod Crane is an amazing district and I hope to continue to improve on the many accomplishments of the Primary School.”
