12 Artworks of ICHS Students Selected for Capital Region Media Arts Festival

(April 13, 2017) Twelve artworks from ICHS students were selected to be a part of the 2017 Capital Region Media Arts Festival that runs though May 5 at the Niskayuna HS Art Gallery. Congratulations to the following students who have artwork in this exhibit: Elizabeth Desmonie (11), Emily Goldman (12), Katie Harrison (10), Calista Phippen (11), Sarah Race (12), Caleb Scace (11), Camden Swierzewski (11), Isabelle Tennier (12), and Ashley VanAlphen (12).

At the reception on Wednesday, April 12 three artworks by Ichabod Crane students were selected for awards. Congratulations to:

  • Isabelle Tennier - "Wilde Child" - First Place, Design: Digital Illustration or Digital Fine Art
  • Calista Phippen - "Gossamer" - Second Place, Photography: Landscape/Nature
  • Sarah Race - "Surreptitious" - Second Place, Photography: Other

The Festival is sponsored by the Capital Area Art Supervisors, the New York State Art Association, and hosted by Niskayuna Central School District. There are 192 works on display from 17 school districts. This festival was developed and organized to provide students with a venue to explore and share their creative efforts in the media arts.
