ICHS Announces Rider of the Month Students for June 2017


(June 20, 2017) Every month, Ichabod Crane High School honors students who demonstrate our school district’s mission and community values. These students have been recognized by high school teachers and staff for exemplifying what it means to be an Ichabod Crane Rider. They exhibit all-around good character, morals and demonstrate Rider values and Rider pride in the classroom, in sports, arts, music, volunteering in the Pre-K classroom and in the community.

Students receive a certificate, a letter from Congressman Chris Gibson and an ice cream coupon donated by Stewarts.

We are pleased to announce the following as Rider of the Month students for June:

GRADE 9

Haydon Broockmann
Haydon Broockmann

Haydon is an excellent student. He is always willing to participate and leads the classroom by his example. Haydon is a thoughtful and considerate young adult who gets along well with his peers and teachers. He maintained an A average Global while playing sports, and epitomizes the meaning of Rider of the Month!

 

 

 

 

 

 



Riley Paul
Riley Paul

Riley is a leader by example and always puts forth her best effort when accomplishing tasks. She is driven, hard-working, and an excellent role model for her peers. Not only does Riley work hard in the classroom, but she also strives for excellence in sports and extracurricular activities. Riley’s daily actions over the course of this school year, her dedication to school and the school community, make her a perfect choice for Rider of the Month.

 

 

 

 

 

GRADE 10


Katie Harrison

Katie is an enthusiastic person with an infectious positive attitude. She can commonly be seen “high-fiving” people as she walks down the hall. She brings that enthusiasm into her classrooms, where it creates a nicer environment for all. Katie creates a positive atmosphere in our school.

Allie Thorpe

Allie is a quiet but fun student to have in class. She is a hard worker who always gives her best effort. Allie is thoughtful and extremely considerate, and always kind to others. She sets a positive example for those around her, and is a pleasure to interact with.

 

 

 

 

 

 

GRADE 11


Larissa Gomez

Larissa is a fantastic student-athlete that cares for her classmates, community, family and friends. She is an advocate for all that is good and she is compassionate about the well-being of others. She is an excellent leader and has helped to bring positive change to Ichabod Crane. She is a member of the Capital District Delegation for the Puerto Rican/Hispanic Youth Leadership institute and is also the Vice President of Sala Latina/International Student Organization.


Caroline Clickman
Caroline Clickman

Caroline is always willing to help. Whenever something is asked of her, she snaps to it and puts forth her best effort. She is remarkably reliable. She never settles for less than her best. As a student and an athlete, Caroline is incredibly hard working. She puts her best effort into everything she does. This past month, even while running in the meets themselves, Caroline was a great help in setting up and breaking down our Colonial Council Championship meet at ICC. She also assisted the middle school PE teachers in their track meet to help those kids enjoy their events.

 

 

 

 

 

GRADE 12


Emily Halnon

Emily is a really positive young lady. She works extremely hard, and does not give up, even when shestruggles. She always brings a smile to someone’s face! Emily is kind, caring, and carries herself with positive energy and dignity. She truly cares about others and is a proud member Ichabod Crane!

Rachel Huyck

Rachel was a tremendous help with the Teen Weekend Meal Program. She stayed after school organizing and packing bags for those that need it. She also recruited other students to help out. Rachel has a big heart and a constant smile. She looks out for others and works hard to make a difference in the lives of others.
