(Nov. 16, 2016) Every month, Ichabod Crane High School honors students who demonstrate our school district’s mission and community values. These students have been recognized by high school teachers and staff for exemplifying what it means to be an Ichabod Crane Rider. They exhibit all-around good character, morals and demonstrate Rider values and Rider pride in the classroom, in sports, arts, music, volunteering in the Pre-K classroom and in the community.
Students receive a certificate, a letter from Congressman Chris Gibson and an ice cream coupon donated by Stewarts.
We are pleased to announce the following as Rider of the Month students for October:
Sarbjeet Devi is an excellent example of a scholar athlete-excelling both in her classes and on the tennis court. She shows exceptional effort in everything she does: striving to understand and correct errors, volunteering in class, and assisting other students. She exhibits a positive attitude, and is very friendly!
Alaynah Segovia is an extremely polite, hard working student. She consistently completes her work with outstanding effort in class and at home. Alaynah works well with, and is helpful to, any student she is paired with in class. She is an absolute treasure and we are lucky to have her at ICHS.
Jonathan Munson has shown great improvement this year in attitude, behavior, and performance in class. He sets clear goals for himself, and works hard to meet them. He is extremely helpful to other students that struggle in class, helping them catch up when absent, and even taking notes. He is especially helpful during warm ups.
Dana Main is a punctual young lady who is always prepared for class. Her most outstanding attribute is her willingness to help others. She is always ready with useful ideas to solve problems, but is never pushy about it. She also offers to help teachers whenever needed. Dana has a strong work ethic!
Courtney Geddes has surpassed all expectations in the first quarter this school year. She is very accommodating to new students in the Student Support program, and has suggested students for the program who have also benefitted from it. Courtney’s attendance has greatly improved this year, missing only one day so far. Courtney has raised the bar for herself this year, and is a great example of a Rider of the Month!
Koreena Decker is a very conscientious student who always tries her best. She is a pleasant young lady who works well with her peers, and is a positive participant in class.
Carlie Jostlin is a perfect example of perseverance and good humor. She has a great deal of academic integrity. Carlie is a polite and patient student who has overcome much adversity. We are proud to have her as a Rider of the Month!
George Cox is a successful student-athlete and a kind person. He is a leader on the Varsity Soccer Team, a positive influence on his teammates and classmates alike. He is frequently found smiling and joking with peers and staff. George is doing well in his classes and is a pleasure to be around.
