Ichabod Crane Board Appoints Peg Warner as Director of Special Education

(June 9, 2017) On June 6, the Ichabod Crane Central School District Board of Education appointed Peg Warner to the position of Director of Special Education, effective July 31, 2017.

Ms. Warner comes to Ichabod Crane highly recommended from the Shenendehowa School District where she has served the past three years as the Academic Administrator for Special Education, grades 9-12. In her present position, she has developed special education programs and provides support to parents, teachers, therapists and paraprofessionals to improve student performance. Ms. Warner is responsible for overseeing the High School Committees on Special Education and the 375 high school students who receive services. Prior to her present position she was a special education teacher in the Bethlehem Central School District.

"We are fortunate to have someone with Ms. Warner's experience and knowledge to lead our Special Education Department," Superintendent George Zini said. "I am confident that she will be an excellent leader and perfect fit for our Special Ed Department and District."

Warner holds New York state permanent certification in school building leadership and special education PreK-12. She completed the Educational Leadership program at the College of Saint Rose and earned her master’s degree in special education from the State University at Albany and a bachelor’s degree in dance with a minor in education from Marymount Manhattan College.

Warner lives in Nassau and has two children.
