ICHS Music Students Selected for All County Jazz Festival

(Feb. 1, 2018) Nine (9) students from Ichabod Crane High School were selected to participate in the first of three Columbia County Music Educators Association (CCMEA) All County Festivals. The All County Jazz Festival will be held at the Germantown Central School District on Wednesday, Feb. 7 and Friday, Feb. 9. The All County experience culminates with performances by the All County Jazz Choir and the All County Instrumental Jazz Ensemble. The Concert will be on Friday, Feb. 9at 7:00 p.m. (snow date Thursday, Feb. 8). Doors open to the public at 6:30 p.m. This event is free.

The format of this All County is different from the other festivals. The All County Jazz Concert begins with performances from High School Jazz Ensembles from each of the School Districts of Columbia County. The Ichabod Crane High School Jazz Ensemble is one of the groups that will perform.

The students will participate in intense after school rehearsals with students selected from the other schools in Columbia County. Conductors for these groups will be from the Capital Region and beyond.
