Board Holds Retreat to Learn About Responsibilies, Roles and Goal Setting

(Aug. 7, 2017) The Ichabod Crane Board of Education held a retreat on July 31 in the Ichabod Crane High School library. Jamie McPherson of the New York State School Boards Association (NYSSBA) facilitated the four-hour session in which board members learned about effective organizations and leadership, roles and responsibilities, communication and the goal setting process.

"This was a great opportunity for our board to collaborate, reflect on the roles and responsibilities of board members and start the goal setting process," Superintendent Michael Vanyo said. "We plan to continue our work in October with NYSSBA and develop goals that will set the framework for the 2018-19 school year."
