ICHS Announces January Rider of the Month Students

(March 1, 2018) Every month, Ichabod Crane High School honors students who demonstrate our school district’s mission and community values. These students have been recognized by high school teachers and staff for exemplifying what it means to be an Ichabod Crane Rider. They exhibit all-around good character, morals and demonstrate Rider values and Rider pride in the classroom, in sports, arts, music, volunteering in the Pre-K classroom and in the community.

Students receive a certificate, a letter from Congressman Faso and an ice cream coupon donated by Stewarts.

We are pleased to announce the following as Rider of the Month students for January:

Jack DiGrigoli

Jack is a responsible, friendly, polite and respectful student. He is a high-achiever and a leader in class. Jack works very hard each and every day and is kind to his classmates and teachers alike. He is an excellent example of an Ichabod Crane Rider.

Skyler Carey

Sklyer is a very conscientious student who truly cares about learning. She works very hard, and is not afraid to ask questions or seek extra help. Whenever she misses class, she stops in the next day to get her work. In addition, Skyler is a genuinely nice person. She never fails to say “have a good afternoon” before she leaves. Skyler’s cheerful personality, her interest in learning, and her kind words make her deserving of Rider of the Month.

Francis (Michael) Vecellio

Michael is a student who is an all around high achiever. He is rather quiet, and leads by example. He is a talented participant in Chorus who represented ICC at the Area All State Festival, and is an outstanding student-athlete.

Marcus George

Marcus is conscientious, polite, respectful, and a great student in class. Marcus works hard in class and is courteous to his classmates and his teachers. A natural leader, Marcus has proven that he has a bright future.

Erika Neale

Erika is a hard working student who consistently strives for her best work. She is a quiet but strong role model in class. Erika has made tremendous progress in her writing skills, making her teachers very proud!

Spencer Bates

Spencer has been a fantastic addition to the Ichabod Crane student body. He is highly engaged in his academics. Spencer consistently completes his classwork and homework to the best of his ability. He asks questions to understand where he can improve, and takes feedback to heart. Spencer relates well to his classmates and teachers, and is an excellent role model. He is a hard worker on and off the field and is proof that hard work pays off with success.

Kyle Dugan

Kyle is a very quiet, conscientious young man who consistently acts selflessly. Kyle is always the first one in the classroom and the last one out. When he comes in, he puts out chairs for the desks around him. At the end of class, he always helps stack every single chair in the room before leaving. Kyle was the only person in homeroom who brought in tabs for the can tab contest. He is an all around good person who deserves to be recognized as a Rider of the Month.

Althea Mensing

Althea is a polite, caring, and hard-working student-athlete who has never shied away from a challenge. This is evident in her challenging course load that she has maintained throughout high school. Althea carries herself with dignity and respect, and show the same for others. She is a leader and a great person.
