Filmmaker Rodrigo Reyes Visits Ichabod Crane

ICHS students met with Writer/Director Rodrigo Reyes (center, glasses) and TImes Union Columinist Paul Grondahl (IC shirt) on Feb. 2.

(Feb. 5, 2018) While in the Capital Region to give a presentation at SUNY Albany on February 2, Rodrigo Reyes, a producer/writer/director, visited Ichabod Crane High School to speak to some of our students about his work documenting migrant workers.

Reyes was joined by Paul Grondahl, director of the NYS Writers Institute at the University at Albany and a columnist of the Times Union. You can listen to Grondahl's podcast where Reyes talks about his visit with Ichabod Crane students here.

Reyes is an award-winning, Mexican-American filmmaker whose work has screened in nearly 50 film festivals around the world. His latest movie, "Lupe Under the Sun," is a first-of-its-kind dramatic film that uses non-actors who are real farmworkers, follows the grinding routine of an aging Mexican migrant worker in Southern California as he come to terms with his past.

Thank you Mr. Reyes for taking the time to visit and speak to our students!
