(July 5, 2017) Ichabod Crane High School is pleased to announce students who represented ICC at recent leadership conferences. Julianne LaGrassa, Olivia Chandler and Jack Kirby attended the RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards) Conference. Julianne also participated in the HOBY (Hugh O'Brian Youth) Leadership Conference with Isabella Sakolish.

The RYLA conference, which is sponsored by Rotary District 7210: “ The Heart of the Hudson Valley” (Columbia, Dutchess, Greene, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan & Ulster Counties), was held June 25-29 at Mount Saint Mary College, Newburgh, NY. The five-day RYLA conference is for high school sophomores who have shown leadership potential at home, school and in the community.

The HOBY conference was held June 2-4 at SUNY Oneonta. The Hugh O’Brian Youth Foundation sponsors a yearly youth leadership seminar that “prepares our country’s high school sophomores to become effective, ethical leaders in their home, schools, workplace and community.” HOBY started in 1958 by the legendary actor Hugh O’Brian. HOBY’s vision is “To motivate and empower individuals to make a positive difference within our global society through understanding and action, based on effective and compassionate leadership.”

Congratulations to Julianne, Olivia, Jack and Isabella!
