Ichabod Crane Middle School Announces September Rider of the Month Students

(October 16, 2018) Each month, Ichabod Crane Middle School honors students that demonstrate our school district’s mission and community values. These students have been recognized by middle school teachers and staff for exemplifying what it means to be an Ichabod Crane Rider. They exhibit all-around good character, morals and demonstrate Rider values and Rider pride in the classroom, in sports, arts, music, and in the community.

Students receive a certificate, a letter from Congressman Faso and an ice cream coupon donated by Stewarts.

We are pleased to announce the Rider of the Month students for September 2018 and what teachers had to say about them.

Brayden Ames

Brayden is being chosen as Rider of the Month because he always goes above and beyond helping both classmates and his teachers. Each morning Braydon comes into the classroom and is ready to help with whatever is asked of him. He does this each day with a smile. He has been especially helpful this month with classroom chores like passing out papers and mail. He does this willingly and without complaint. It has been so wonderful to have a cheerful face to rely on as we begin the new school year. Braydon is also a kind and caring friend to his classmates, always ready to lend them a hand, whether it’s with class work or something as simple as stacking their chair for them. Keep up the great work, Brayden!

Finnian Armstrong

Finn is an extremely hard worker who is always eager to learn and improve. He consistently looks for feedback and suggestions on how he can better himself as a learner. He is always helpful and willing to assist a friend or teacher in need. Finn is a model member of his classroom and school community. We are honored to have a Finn as a part of our class this year.

Julia Williams

Julia is a student who goes above and beyond. She has taken on two classroom jobs, which she completes accurately and efficiently. In addition, she was courageous enough to volunteer to present our first student book chat of the year. Julia shows leadership qualities on a daily basis. She has a great attitude and sets an example for her classmates.

William Kosnick

William is a respectful, attentive, and hard-working young man. His insightful and comprehensive answers/responses across all academic areas are exceptional; however, what impelled me to consider, and ultimately select, William for the Rider of the Month recognition has been his regard for fellow classmates. On several occasions I witnessed William moving about the room to help his peers who had been struggling in a variety of capacities, especially in math. Needless to say, I am quite impressed. I look forward to more laudable acts from this young man as the year progresses.

Amara Gabriel

Amara has made a nice addition to our 6th grade team. She has her organization and priorities all in order and is a big class participator. 6th grade band also benefits from Amara's participation. We look forward to a great year. Thanks, Amara!

Remidee Delaney

Remidee has fit right in with 6th grade. She is always prepared and completes assignments on time. Her transition into middle school has been a smooth one and our Chorus will sound even more beautiful with her voice! Keep up the great effort, Remidee.

Jade Amerling

Jade has made a nice transition into sixth grade. She has been especially kind to her peers and shown herself to be a kind and caring person. Jade has also put forth great effort in her work and should be commended for her positive attitude!

Nolan Space

Nolan has shown himself to be a role model in sixth grade. He is kind and polite. He is always willing to help and has done so on several occasions. Nolan works hard and has a great attitude!

Alexa Meza

Alexa seeks opportunities to help in the classroom. She is positive and encouraging to peers. She has made an effort to put her learning first by starting the year strong, with great study skills and routines. Alexa is a wonderful, nurturing role model!

Tyler VanAllen

Tyler is genuinely kind and considerate. He is polite and encouraging to his peers and his teachers. Tyler works well with others to support their learning as well. Tyler is focused and demonstrates great routines and habits to start seventh grade. Tyler is a great role model!

Payton Minbiole

Team 7 / 8 is pleased to award Rider of the Month to Payton Minibole. Over the last month, the team has observed Payton’s strong dedication to her work as well as her respect for her classmates and teachers. Payton is responsible, respectful, and thoughtful. She consistently puts forth strong effort in her work and always demonstrates a positive attitude. We are pleased to honor Payton with the Rider of the Month award.

Sofia Pantoja

Sofia has shown growth in maturity over the summer. She takes her studies and class time very seriously. She is able to balance her responsibilities and social life. As the JV goalie for our soccer team, she sets the tone for the team. Goalies need focus and dedication to improving their skills. She brings these traits into the classroom and improves the lessons for everyone.

Connor Ackerley

Team 8 is proud to announce that our Rider of the Month is Connor Ackerley. Even in the short time we have known him, Connor has shown himself to be a hard worker and great role model for his classmates. Connor tries his best on all of his assignments. His teachers enjoy having him in class and appreciate his politeness and willingness to work with others. We look forward to seeing what Connor can achieve in the coming year. Congratulations Connor!

Hannah Schermerhorn

Team 8 is pleased to announce that our Rider of the Month is Hannah Schermerhorn. Hannah has already shown herself to be an exemplary student. She is sensitive to peers who need assistance and will go the extra mile to help them. Hannah is a natural teacher and leader who is persistent yet patient with her classmates. We are so happy to have Hannah on our team!
