Opioid Overdose Rescue Training for Staff on October 3, 2018

(September 17, 2018) The Ichabod Crane School District and the Chatham School District are working with the NYS Office of Alcoholism & Substance Abuse Services (NYS OASAS) to offer a free training opportunity for staff on the use of Narcan to prevent a suspected opioid overdose. The training is on October 3 at Chatham High School from 6 - 7:30 pm.

To register, please sign up through the district catalog on My Learning Plan. Attendees will receive 1.5 CTLE hours.  A brief description of the training is listed below.  

Naloxone Overdose Rescue Training

Participants learn to recognize, respond to and reverse a suspected opioid overdose using naloxone (Narcan).  Naloxone rescue kits will be provided to those who need them most, with other participants directed to obtain free or low-cost naloxone through a local pharmacist using New York State’s Naloxone Copayment Assistance Program (N-CAP).
