Calendar Change: June 15 Half Day for K-8 Students

On June 15, Elementary/Middle School (10:30 am dismissal) and the Primary School (11:30 am dismissal) will be having a half day for students on that day. The High School will have Regents "Rating Day" so students will not be on the campus that day.


Softball Sectionals - Semifinals May 25

(May 24, 2018) ICC softball defeated Bishop Gibbons 12-0 in the Class B sectional quarterfinals on May 23 to advance to the semifinals on Friday, May 25 at 4 p.m. at Veeder Park in Colonie. Go Riders!


Baseball Sectionals - Finals May 26

(May 24, 2018) The ICC boys baseball team defeated Hudson 2-1 to advance to the Class B sectional finals. They will face Albany Academy on Saturday, May 26 at 7 p.m. at Joe Bruno Stadium. Go Riders! Learn More


Ceramic Columns in the High School Courtyard

CJ Ferrari Honored at Scholars' Recognition Dinner and in Times Union

(May 18, 2018) Ichabod Crane High School student and valedictorian CJ Ferrari was honored at the 32nd annual CASDA Scholars Recognition Dinner on May 16. ICC teacher Cole Moon was also honored as he was nominated by Ferrari as having a significant influence on his education. Learn More

Moody's Investors Service Assigns District Favorable Rating

(May 16, 2018) In its Annual Comment on Kinderhook Central School District, Moody's Investors Service has assigned an Aa3 rating to the District.

According to Moody's, the Aa3 rating reflects the district's well-managed financial operations and sound reserve levels, moderately sized tax base with above average wealth levels, and manageable debt position.

“We are pleased Moody’s has consistently rated the District's financial operations with an Aa3 rating," said Business Manager Michael Brennan. To view the full report, click here.


Residents Approve Budget, Bus Purchase, Capital Reserve Fund & Elect Three to the Board of Education

(May 15, 2018) Ichabod Crane Central School District residents have approved the $40,190,782 budget for the 2018-19 school year by a vote of 747 (yes) to 292 (no). Voters elected incumbents Regina Rose and John Antalek and newcomer Jessica Berner to the Board of Education. Residents also approved the school bus purchase proposition and a proposition to establish a Capital Reserve Fund. Thank you to all who came out to vote! Learn More

Calista Phippen Throws Perfect Game

(May 8, 2018) Ichabod Crane High School student and softball player Calista Phippen threw a perfect game with 16 strikeouts as Ichabod Crane defeated Cohoes, 1-0, on May 7. Calista has a total of 1043 strikeouts for her career -- quite the feat! Congratulations to Calista! Learn More

Substance Abuse Awareness Posters of Two ICHS to be Displayed on Billboard

(April 19, 2018) The high school's Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) recently held a Substance Abuse Awareness Poster Contest for the high school. The first winner is 11th grader Erika Neale. Her poster will be displayed for the Month of May. The other winner is 12th grader Karina Kolb-Speer. Her poster will be displayed for the month of June. Safety Efforts Earn Ichabod Crane Highest Level Safety Excellence Award

(April 13, 2018) The Utica National Insurance Company has recognized Ichabod Crane CSD’s safety efforts for another year with its Safety Excellence Award. Utica National recently presented the District with the highest level, “Titanium with Honors” award, during the 38th annual school safety seminar held in Saratoga in March. Learn More

(March 20, 2018) New York State assessments will be administered for students in grade 3-8 as follows:

  • April 11 & 12: ELA
  • May 1 & 2: Math
  • May 29: Grades 4 & 8 Science (performance)
  • June 4: Grades 4 & 8 Science (written)

(March 14, 2018) Ichabod Crane High School and Middle School students organized events on Mar. 14, 2018, the one month anniversary of the school shooting in Parkland, Florida, to show solidarity with Parkland by remembering the victims and sharing their perspective about the need for a safe school environment.
