Ichabod Crane Central School District's school budget includes funding for a district-wide Pre-Kindergarten (Pre-K) program for resident children who reach the age of four on or before December 1 of the year students enter school. Priority for enrollment is given to students who meet the criteria for free and reduced priced school meals.
The program is provided by Questar III, the Ichabod Crane Central School District, and partners in collaboration with Advanced Therapy. The half-day program is located at Ichabod Crane Primary School. The morning session runs from 8:15 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. and the afternoon session is 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Transportation to and from the program is provided by families.
This comprehensive and enriched program, taught by a certified teacher with support from a certified teaching assistant, utilizes the NYS Pre-K Foundation for the Common Core program and the Creative Curriculum. It focuses on child-centered activities, development of strong foundational skills in early literacy and numeracy, social interaction, and Kindergarten readiness skills.
If your child meets the eligibility requirements and you would like a registration packet mailed to you please contact Maureen Selva, teaching assistant, at 758-7391.
