(May 20, 2016) The IC baseball team lost to Albany Academy 7-0 in the Section II, Class BB quarterfinal on Thursday, May 19. They finished the season 14-5. Learn More
(May 18, 2016) The boys tennis team was defeated by LaSalle 4-3 on May 17. Coach Megan Yeats said, "Four of the seven matches went to three sets. A valiant effort, but we came up short!"

(March 9, 2016) ICHS basketball player Chase Werner was selected as the ICC representative for the Section 2 Scholar Athletes with a GPA of 98. Chase, Coach Ferguson (Section 2 Scholar Athlete Committee) and Coach Muller attended the brunch held on March 6 at the Troy Hilton. Chase was also nominated as a KSA scholarship winner and wrote an essay for entry and possible selection for a KSA scholarship. Congratulations Chase!
The Boys Varsity Volleyball team fell 3-2 to Cobleskill in the Sectional Final on Saturday, Feb. 27 at Maple Hill High School. They end with a great season 16-3! See what Coach Connors had to say here.
(Feb. 17, 2016) Boys: The boys team fell to Stillwater 52-48 on Tuesday, Feb. 16.
(Feb. 13, 2016) Girls: The girls team fell to Bishop Gibbons 37-32 at home on Feb. 12 in the Class B Tournament.
(Feb. 9, 2016) Athletic Director Tim Stewart has been informed that Section 2 of the NYSPHSAA has selected Ichabod Crane to host the sectional meet this spring. This is a compliment to our track facility and great news for our athletes who can perform at their home track. Approximately 15 schools and between 500-1,000 athletes will attend on Wednesday, May 25. Section 2 covers the cost of officials, ticket takers and chaperones so there is no cost to the district. Our Booster Club is very excited to operate concession for the event!
(Feb. 9, 2016) The IC Boys Varsity basketball team visited the Capital City Rescue Mission in Albany on Saturday, Feb. 6. There, the team prepared bag lunches for the homeless for the upcoming week. They sliced vegetables and worked in the kitchen preparing meals for the weekend. While the meal preparations were going on, the coaches and team served lunch to approximately 125 homeless people. After lunch, the team then cleaned, swept and mopped the cafeteria to prepare for the dinner session. The IC team then went to Chili’s to celebrate their accomplishments for the day. (Jan. 28, 2016) IC Riders helped fundraise for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Capital Region, Inc. Albany NY on Saturday, January 23 at Crossgates Mall. For the eighth consecutive year, the IC boys varsity basketball team participated in the Ronald McDonald annual fundraiser. The fundraiser allows families of sick children to stay at the Ronald McDonald House at no cost while their child is undergoing treatment. The IC boys sold hearts throughout the mall while the IC coaches manned the hoop shoot. Together the coaches and boys raised and donated $625. Check out the team's Facebook page for more photos.
(Jan. 28, 2016) The Ichabod Crane boys varsity basketball team participated in the KSA Holiday Tournament at the ESPN Wide World of Sports in Florida from 12/28/2015-1/1/2016. The IC Riders boys varsity basketball team attended the KSA Disney’s character breakfast at ESPN Wide World of Sports. High School basketball teams from the USA and Canada attended the three day hoop tournament at Disney World. The boys and their families spent eight months raising the money to attend the tournament.

The ICC Staff Basketball Game will tip off at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 11 in the Ichabod Crane High School gymnasium. (June 1, 2015) The IC varsity softball team defeated Cohoes 3-1 on Friday, May 31 at Clifton Common to win the Class B Section 2 championship. It was the first time since 1984 said Coach Tracy Nystransky. The Lady Riders (18-3) will play in the regional tournament on Saturday, June 6 at 4:30 p.m. at Luther Forest in Malta. (May 12, 2015) This afternoon, three Ichabod Crane student athletes signed letters of intent to play sports at the next level. Surrounded by family, friends, coaches, teachers and administrators, the athletes signed their letters in a ceremony in the Ichabod Crane High School Gymnasium, officially committing to participate in NCAA athletics at a college or university. (March 24, 2015) Congratulations to Ichabod Crane High School's girls and boys varsity basketball and indoor track teams for being named by the New York State Public High School Athletic Association as Scholar-Athlete teams this winter.
In order to qualify as a scholar athlete team, the team must hold a collective GPA of 90 or better with at least the minimum amount of students required by NYSPHSAA. The number of students required to meet this standard varies by team but always represents a majority of its athletes. Congratulations Riders!

(March 15, 2015) Jimmy Hollister was named Ichabod Crane's Scholar Athlete at the Section II basketball awards ceremony held today at the Hilton Inn in Troy. (March 12, 2015) Congratulations to Ichabod Crane senior Sagan Leggett, who had a very strong performance and finished in 14th place in the Race Walk event (was seeded 18th) at the New York State Indoor Track and Field Meet at Cornell University on March 7th.
Girls: The girls basketball lost to top-seeded Hoosick Falls 55-35 in the Section II, Class B varsity girls basketball tournament semifinals on March 4 at Averill Park. Great run ladies! We are proud of you!
Boys: The Boys Varsity Basketball team lost to Schuylerville 68-63 in the first round of the Section 2 Class B Tournament at Schuylerville on Tuesday, Feb. 24. Not the post-season they hoped for but nice job guys on a great season! We are proud of you!

(Feb. 27, 2015) ICHS senior Sagan Leggett has qualified for the New York State Meet! Sagan placed 2nd in the 1500m Race Walk at the Section 2 state qualifier at SUNY Albany on Feb. 26 to earn a repeat trip to compete in the NY State Indoor Track & Field Championship Meet at Cornell University on March 7th. (Nov. 20) Ichabod Crane boys selected for the Section 2 Exceptional Senior Game which was held on Veterans' Day at DiCaprio Park in Guilderland helped the Colonial Council team to a 3-3 tie with the Patroon Conference. Isaac Lester, Nathan Lester, Junior Martinez and Jimmy Hollister all played for the Colonial team. Ryan Firmbach was also selected but unable to attend. The All Star team was coached by John Knight.

A select number of athletes will compete Thursday, May 29 & Friday, May 30 at the Section 2 state qualifier meet in hopes of qualifying for the New York State Meet. Qualifiers are held at SUNY Albany at 4:00pm. The New York State Championships will be held on Friday, June 6 & Saturday, June 7 at Cicero-North Syracuse (Section 3). (Feb. 28, 2014) ICHS junior Sagan Leggett will represent ICC at the NYS Indoor Track and Field Meet Saturday, March 1 at Cornell University. Sagan placed second in race walking in the Section 2 state qualifiers at UAlbany on Feb. 16. She has also qualified for the National High School Track and Field Championship on March 15 at the Armory in NYC.

The New York Public High School Athletic Association recently announced that all of Ichabod Crane teams have been named Scholar-Athlete Teams for the 2012-13 fall season.
To qualify for the honor, teams must achieve a grade average of 90.0 percent or greater during the season.

Capital Region Orthopaedics is pleased to announce a young athlete with a passion for sports and who is driven to succeed at his “Personal Best.”
Scott Van Denburgh, now 13, is currently a member of the Ichabod Crane Middle School modified basketball team. “He’s a really good teammate. He’s always supportive of everyone and always has his head up,” says teammate, Casey Rutkey.
Along with basketball, Scott has a passion for golf. He’s participated in the sport since he was two years old and has demonstrated his talents as an outstanding golfer. Scott is even a member of the Ichabod Crane varsity golf team and has been a member of the NYS Jr. PGA since he was nine years old. Scott’s goal is to make it into the PGA tour as a professional golfer.
Even with a demanding sports schedule, the young athlete has also dedicated much of his time to his school studies. He is a straight-A student with a passion for mathematics.
Scott dreams of having a career in business if he doesn’t make it to the PGA. “I’m always trying my hardest and giving a 100% effort the whole time,” says Scott. With a positive attitude and determination, this scholar-athlete has proven how hard he’s worked to show his Personal Best.

To date 14 of the 15 Ichabod Crane Fall and Winter teams have earned Scholar/Athlete Status by the New York State Public High School Athletic Association
At the end of each sport season, the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) honors those teams that excel in the classroom. To earn this recognition, the team average must be 90% or greater.
Congratulations to our student athletes for their academic and athletic achievements!

The Ichabod Crane Boys' Volleyball Team repeated their title as Regional Volleyball Champions with their win over Vernon-Verona-Sherrill of Section III on Saturday, March 10 at Canastota High School.
Ichabod Crane finished the 2011-12 season with a 21-1 record.

On Saturday January 21, 2012 the Ichabod Crane Varsity Boys Basketball Team participated in the Ronald McDonald House 2012 Radiothon to raise money to support families by providing a home away from home for families of seriously ill children, and by creating and supporting programs that directly improve the lives of children and their families.
The boys participated in the daylong event by collecting money from patrons of Crossgates Mall. The event raised $141,765 for Ronald McDonald House.

The Athletic Program fielded 49 total teams, in which 572 students participated in modified and interscholastic athletics composing 853 roster spots. The student athletes captured 2 Section II Championships, 10 Patroon Conference Championships, and 16 of 22 varsity teams earned New York State Public High School Scholar Athlete recognition.
The Athletic Program fielded 45 total teams, in which 513 students participated in modified and interscholastic athletics composing 824 roster spots. The student athletes captured eight Patroon Conference Championships, and 16 of 21varsity teams earned New York State Public High School Scholar Athlete recognition.
New in 2009-2010 will be the addition of varsity football and boys' swimming.
