WELCOME TO THE 2010-2011 SCHOOL YEARMessage from the President of the Board of Education - Andrew Kramarchyk |
Greetings! It is my honor and privilege to lead our Board of Education this year as President. We have a challenging year ahead of us – with a new Superintendent search and a new, streamlined budget. Our board, administration, instructional staff, support staff, as well as our students, will be asked to set and achieve greater goals than ever before, while at the same time working with fewer resources than we have been accustomed. In typical Ichabod Crane fashion, we are up for the task and look forward to the challenge – in fact, the lead up to this year has reinforced in our board the student-centered Mission Statement that we follow: “In our quest for excellence, the Ichabod Crane Central School District is dedicated to preparing all students to meet the challenges of our future and to appreciate the value of their own lives by nurturing each individual’s unique talents, instilling a desire for lifelong learning, and fostering a strong spirit of community.”
Please come to one of our board meetings and tell us what is on your mind. Whether your concern is as a taxpayer, parent, student, employee or other stakeholder, we need your input and feedback. This year will be an important transition for Ichabod Crane. We must use all our collective experience and knowledge from our rich tradition in order to secure our future in what will be a new chapter for public education. My board colleagues and I, along with Interim Superintendent Lee Bordick and his staff, are committed to our charge and welcome your participation.
