Message from John Phillips,
President of the Board of Education
The Board of Education is committed to effective communication between our school district and all interested community members. Regular Board meetings occur on the first Tuesday of each month with additional meetings scheduled as needed, including January through March during budget preparation. These meetings provide an opportunity for Board members to hear from our community regarding important topics. Board meetings often include a forum for District staff to share exciting and challenging educational activities taking place in all District schools. For a schedule of Board meetings, please contact the Superintendent of Schools at 758-7575, ext. 3002, or visit the
Board meeting listing on the District’s Web site.
Although boards of education typically consider many issues, please be assured that our first priority is academics. Last school year, the Board began a strategic planning process to study the District’s academic program, and to set goals for student achievement and program improvement. This initiative will continue into this year and beyond.
The Ichabod Crane Central School District has a history of active participation and support by community members. The Board of Education welcomes you to the 2008-09 school year and looks forward to your involvement. Please feel free to contact Board members with questions and suggestions you may have to help us better represent you.
