THE RIDERS MARCHING BAND PERFORM AT U-MASS AMHERST

On Sat., Sept. 26, the ‘Riders’ Marching Band traveled to the University of Massachusetts in Amherst for High School Band Day to learn from and perform with the marching band power and class of New England.

Beginning early in the morning, approximately 65 bands from all across New England, New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania joined the Minuteman Band in an intense rehearsal for the program which was performed four hours later before a crowd of 17,000 fans at the U-Mass Minutemen football game halftime show!  The approximately 3000 students had the opportunity to work with marching band specialist Director George N. Parks, who has earned a national reputation for his work with marching bands and competitive drum and bugle corps.

U-Mass Band Day will be an annual event for the “Riders’ Marching Band.
