Jermain/Wheeler 5th Grade Class Adopts Classroom in Texas

(Oct. 10, 2017) Through Teachers of Tomorrow, Mrs. Jermain and Mrs. Wheeler's fifth graders adopted a Houston, TX fifth grade class that was devastated by Hurricane Harvey. Collecting gift cards and donations through September, they raised $533. This was sent to the teacher, Mrs. Lorena Valle and her students to replenish lost school supplies. Later in the year, they hope to Skype their adopted Houston class. Thank you to everyone who helped this cause. Way to go 5th graders! See Photo


IC Girls Tennis Finishes in 2nd Place in Maple Hill Tournament

District Conducts Drill at the High School

(Oct. 6, 2017) In partnership with the Columbia County Sheriff's Office, the district conducted a 'hold in place' drill at the high school on Oct. 6. Dogs checked the locker areas. There were no incidents or issues and classes were not disrupted. The district periodically conducts these drills as part of its commitment to a safe learning environment for all.


Trevor Wolfe: Section 2 Class B Golf Champion

Tismark Boham Finishes 3rd
(Oct. 4, 2017) At the Section 2 Class B sectionals on Tuesday, Oct. 3, Trevor Wolfe won with a score of 84 to become the Section 2 Class B Golf Individual Champion. ICHS Annual College Fair Oct. 17

(Sept. 27, 2017) Ichabod Crane High School's Counseling & Career Center will hold its annual College Fair on Tuesday, October 17 from 10:15 a.m to 12:30 p.m. in the high school gym. As we have done in the past, New Lebanon (and ICC CTE Students), Maple Hill High School and Chatham High School students will also be in attendance.

The Counseling & Career Center arranges many college visitations at Ichabod in addition to sponsoring other visitations, such as Military Career Day. This is a great opportunity for our students to talk to representatives without having to travel.


All IC Students to Attend "Rachel's Challenge" Assemblies; Community Invited to Evening Presentation on Oct. 3

(Sept. 26, 2017) All Ichabod Crane students will attend "Rachel's Challenge" assemblies on either October 2 (grades K-6) or October 3 (grades 7-12). Each session will be tailored to the appropriate audience (K-3, 4-6, 7/8, 9-12). The entire Ichabod Crane community is invited to attend a free evening presentation on Tuesday, October 3 at 5:30 p.m. in the high school auditorium. Learn More

Superintendent Michael Vanyo Addresses Faculty & Staff on Opening Day

NYS Department of Education Releases 2017 Grades 3-8 Testing Results

(Aug. 22, 2017) The New York State Department of Education (SED) today released the results of the 2017 Grades 3-8 English Language Arts (ELA) and Math assessments administered this past spring.

An analysis of the district's results will be presented to the Board of Education in September. Ichabod Crane parents will receive their children’s individual assessment reports from the district mid-September.
